This hiking route to Cima dell'Osservatorio is located in a beautiful wilderness area with stunning peaks and natural springs along the way. The trail is 16.737 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 986 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will take around 6 hours and 20 minutes to complete.
Starting at the parking area, hikers will first come across Fonte Cagnolini, a natural spring located 0.83 kilometers from the start of the trail. Continuing on, about 2.23 kilometers into the hike, you will reach Valle delle Fonti, another picturesque spring where you can rest and refill your water bottles.
Further along the trail, at 3.3 kilometers from the start, you will pass by Fontana Ghezzi, a refreshing spring to rehydrate and cool off. Close by is the wilderness hut, Capanna Ghezzi, where you can take a break and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
As you trek onwards, you will approach the peaks of Quarto San Lorenzo, Colle Abieri, and finally Cima dell'Osservatorio, which is 8.37 kilometers from the start of the trail. The stunning views from the summit make the challenging hike worth the effort.
