This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you to Cima dell'Osservatorio, located in a stunning wilderness area. The total distance of the hike is 16.737 kilometers with an elevation gain of 986 meters, making it a challenging trek that will take approximately 6 hours and 20 minutes to complete.

Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by several points of interest along the way. About 3.3 kilometers into the hike, you will come across Fontana Ghezzi, a natural spring where you can rest and refill your water supply. Further along, at approximately 3.34 kilometers from the start, you will find Capanna Ghezzi, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy some accommodation facilities.

As you continue on the trail, you will encounter Valle delle Fonti, another natural spring, at around 2.23 kilometers from the start. Keep hiking towards the summit, and at 8.37 kilometers from the beginning, you will reach Cima dell'Osservatorio, a peak offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Along the way, you will also pass by Quarto San Lorenzo and Colle Abieri, two other peaks that offer breathtaking views of the wilderness area. Make sure to take plenty of water, snacks, and a map with you, as this hike is quite challenging and requires proper preparation.

Before embarking on this adventure, be sure to check the weather forecast and dress accordingly.
