This extremely difficult hiking route will take you to the stunning Cima del Lago peak in the area. The trail has a distance of approximately 19.96 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1190 meters, so make sure you are well-prepared and in good physical condition before embarking on this adventure, as it will take around 7 hours and 35 minutes to complete.
Starting at the parking area, located at the beginning of the trail, you will pass by various points of interest along the way. About 0.83 kilometers into the hike, you will come across the Fonte Cagnolini spring, followed by the Valle delle Fonti spring at around 2.23 kilometers from the start.
Continuing on, you will reach the Capanna Ghezzi wilderness hut at approximately 3.34 kilometers from the start, where you can take a break and enjoy the facilities available. Around 3.3 kilometers into the trail, you will find the Fontana Ghezzi spring, providing a refreshing stop for hikers.
As you trek further, you will encounter several peaks such as Cima dell'Osservatorio, Quarto San Lorenzo, Colle Abieri, and finally, the destination peak, Cima del Lago located at 9.98 kilometers from the start.
