This hiking route takes you through a stunning alpine landscape with breathtaking views and challenging terrain. The trail is 13.108 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 1380 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will test your endurance and skills.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by the Rifugio Antonio Curò, an alpine hut located 3.7 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take a break, refill your water bottles, and enjoy some local hospitality. Further along the trail at the same distance, you'll come across Rifugio Consoli UEB, another alpine hut (currently permanently closed).
As you continue on, about 6.55 kilometers from the start, you'll reach Lago inferiore di Valmorta, a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by towering peaks. This is a perfect spot to rest and take in the serene beauty of the area.
Along the way, you'll also encounter Lago del Barbellino artificiale, another artificial lake, located 3.86 kilometers from the start. This is a great place to stop and admire the engineering marvel of the dam.
Throughout the hike, make sure to stay hydrated and bring enough water with you as the trail can be strenuous. Check the weather forecast before heading out as mountain weather can change rapidly.
