This challenging 11.3-kilometer hiking route named Gemsenweg will take you through the stunning natural beauty of the area.
Starting at Lauterbrunnen, make sure to stop by the Lauterbrunnen Tourism Office for any last-minute information you may need for your hike. As you begin your journey, you'll come across the Rail Travel Office, providing convenient services for travelers.
Midway through the hike, you'll reach the picturesque Café Gruebi where you can take a break, grab a snack, and enjoy the serene surroundings. Further along the trail, you'll encounter the Crystal Pub and the Rocks Bar for some refreshing drinks and nourishment.
Along the way, you'll also pass by several viewpoints where you can pause to take in the breathtaking scenery. Keep an eye out for the historic wayside crosses Kreuz and enjoy the unique cultural elements of the area.
As the hike progresses, you'll have the opportunity to rest at various benches and picnic sites, including a sheltered cave for a peaceful break. Make sure to stay hydrated with the available drinking water stations along the trail.
After a challenging but rewarding trek, you'll loop back to your starting point in Lauterbrunnen. The hike offers a total elevation gain of 1058 meters and is estimated to take approximately 5 hours and 15 minutes to complete.
