This hiking route takes you to the beautiful Balcon du Saillant along the Route du Site. The trail is 7.061 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 236 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike.
You will start your journey at the parking area, located right at the beginning of the trail. As you make your way, you will come across several water sources, some located closer to the start such as at 1.5 kilometers into the hike, and others further away like at 2.34 kilometers. Make sure to bring enough water with you, especially on warmer days.
Around the 1.11-kilometer mark, you will find the historic Château du Saillant, a castle that adds a touch of charm to the trail. Further along, at 0.57 kilometers, there is a campsite called Camping de la Bontat, providing a potential resting spot for hikers looking to spend more time in the area.
At the midway point, around 3.53 kilometers, you will reach a viewpoint offering stunning panoramic views of the surroundings. Take a moment to rest and enjoy the scenery before heading back.
