This hiking route is a circular trail in the area of Strada statale Settentrionale Sicula in Messina. The route has a total distance of 6.913 kilometers with an elevation gain of 316 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike.
As you start your journey, you will come across various points of interest along the trail. At the beginning of the hike, you will find the Parcheggio Santa Maria della Valle parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before starting the hike. About 1.19 kilometers into the hike, there is a bench where you can take a short break and enjoy the surroundings.
Further along the trail, at approximately 1.3 kilometers, you will find Don Minico, a fast-food establishment where you can grab a quick bite to eat. Nearby, there is also a wayside shrine that you can visit. As you continue, around 1.48 kilometers into the hike, you will reach Colle San Rizzo, a peak that offers stunning views of the area.
Midway through the hike, at around 2.92 kilometers, there is a fountain where you can refill your water bottles and take a rest before continuing on. Towards the end of the hike, at approximately 3.18 kilometers, 3.44 kilometers, and 1.31 kilometers, you will encounter more peaks that offer panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
