This challenging hiking route in the Mugakosoro region offers breathtaking views and a variety of points of interest along the way. The 9.214-kilometer trail starts and ends at the Mugakosoro peak.
As you begin your journey, you will encounter the Soratxipi peak around 3.84 kilometers from the starting point. Continuing on, at 1.76 kilometers, you will come across the historic wayside cross known as Erlaingo harriko gurutzea. Further along, at 1.91 kilometers, you will find the informative site Zumardena and the natural saddle Zumardenako lepoa.
Midway through the hike, at 2.91 kilometers, you will reach the site of Uztakorta, with its stunning views. Along the trail, you will also discover various archaeological sites such as Dolmen Pitxotzar 2 Erdialde, Dolmen Pitxotzarko gaina, and Dolmen Zumardena, offering a glimpse into the area's ancient history.
As you approach the end of the hike, at 4.38 kilometers, you will reach the Mugakosoro peak, the highest point of the trail. Here, you can take in panoramic views before descending back to the starting point.
With a distance of 9.214 kilometers and an elevation gain of 368 meters, this hike is considered difficult and is best suited for experienced hikers. Make sure to bring plenty of water, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast before setting out.
