This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with various water features and ponds to explore. The trail is a super easy out-and-back route with a total distance of 0.931 kilometers and no elevation gain.
Starting at the parking area at the trailhead, you will first come across a small water body just 30 meters from the start. Known as Frog Pond, it offers a serene spot to observe wildlife and maybe even spot some frogs. Continuing along the trail, you will pass by Kingfisher Pond at 0.22 kilometers, a great place to look for the namesake bird species fishing for its meal.
Further along the route, at 0.29 kilometers, you will reach Sunfish Pool, another water feature where you can take a break and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Finally, the highlight of the hike, Newt Pool, is located at 0.47 kilometers from the start. This scenic spot is perfect for a picnic or a rest before making your way back.
As this is a short and easy hike, it is suitable for hikers of all levels. However, be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks as there are limited facilities along the trail.
