This difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you to the Crête du Velan area, offering stunning views and challenging terrain. The total distance of the hike is 5.591 kilometers with an elevation gain of 516 meters, taking approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes to complete.

Starting from the parking area at the beginning of the trail, you will pass by the alpine hut Refuge de Bise, located just 0.06 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to rest and enjoy the surroundings before continuing on your journey.

As you make your way along the trail, you will come across Les Cabrettes restaurant and a drinking water source, perfect for refueling and staying hydrated. About 2.8 kilometers into the hike, you will reach a water feature, providing a serene stop to take in the natural beauty of the area.

Further along the trail, at approximately 1.15 kilometers from the start, you will encounter another water source for your convenience. Midway through the hike, at 2.22 kilometers, you can admire the peak known as Dent du Velan, a spectacular sight worth the trek.

Towards the end of the route, at 2.48 kilometers from the start, you will reach Col D'Ugeon, adding an extra element of adventure to your hike. Finally, as you make your way back, don't forget to stop by the information points such as Les Randonnées Autour de Bise and Chalets de Bise for interesting insights about the area.
