Welcome to the Crête du Velan hiking route! This challenging trail offers stunning views and a variety of points of interest along the way.

Starting at the parking area, you'll begin your ascent towards the Crête du Velan. The trail passes by the charming alpine hut, Refuge de Bise, where you can take a break and enjoy the mountain scenery just 0.06 kilometers from the start.

As you continue your hike, you'll come across Les Cabrettes restaurant and a water source at 2.8 kilometers from the start, perfect for refueling and staying hydrated during your journey.

Further along the trail, at 1.15 kilometers from the start, you'll find another water source before reaching the peak of Dent du Velan at 2.22 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take in panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

At 2.48 kilometers from the start, you'll reach Col D'Ugeon, a picturesque saddle along the trail. Nearby, you can find drinking water and informational points to learn more about the area.

On your way back, don't miss the opportunity to visit Chalets de Bise and Le Lac de Bise, a beautiful collapsed lake, both located approximately 0.05-0.17 kilometers from the start.

With a total distance of 5.591 kilometers and an elevation gain of 516 meters, this hike is rated as difficult. Be sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen, and check the weather forecast before setting out.
