The Carson Pass Trailhead is the starting point for your hiking adventure on the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail #2000. This extremely difficult 13.5 km out-and-back route offers stunning views and a challenging terrain.

As you begin your journey, you will pass by Frog Lake, located 1.76 km from the starting point. This picturesque lake is a great spot to take in the beauty of the area. Further along the trail, at the 6.6 km mark, you will come across a water source, providing a much-needed rest and refill for your water bottles.

Near the midway point of the hike, at 6.77 km, you will encounter another water source, ensuring you stay hydrated throughout your trek. As you continue along the trail, you will reach the Kit Carson and Snowshoe Thompson Monuments, located at the beginning of the hike. These historic landmarks add a touch of culture to your outdoor experience.

At the 0.77 km mark, you will reach the Wilderness Boundary, showcasing the pristine natural surroundings of the area. As you approach the endpoint of the trail, at 1.81 km, you will find helpful information at the various information stations along the way.

With an elevation gain of 419 meters, this hike is not for the faint of heart. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and wear sturdy hiking boots.
