This challenging hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with stunning views and interesting points of interest along the way. The trail is an out-and-back type, starting at Piazza Francesco Tarducci and ending at the Vista Valle viewpoint.
As you begin your journey, you will pass by the Parcheggio BUS parking lot, which is located just 0.15 kilometers from the start. Make sure to fill up your water bottles at the drinking water station located at a distance of 0.0 kilometers from the trailhead. This will be essential for staying hydrated during the 7.964-kilometer hike.
As you make your way along the trail, you will come across the Vecchio Mulino archaeological site at 0.89 kilometers from the start. This historic site provides a glimpse into the past and is definitely worth a visit. Further along the route, at 3.98 kilometers from the start, you will find the Giovanni Pallini Jack memorial and the Vista Valle viewpoint. These spots offer panoramic views of the surrounding valley, making them perfect for a rest and some breathtaking photos.
For sustenance along the way, you can stop at La Colombara restaurant located 0.23 kilometers from the trail. Additionally, there is a drinking water station at 0.71 kilometers from the start to refill your water supplies.
The trail also features several natural cave entrances to explore, such as Grotta per Caso, Buco di Lorenzo, and Grotta del Tritone, each offering a unique experience and located midway through the hike. Make sure to bring a flashlight if you plan on exploring these caves.
With an elevation gain of 784.0 meters, this hike is considered difficult and is not recommended for novice hikers.
