This challenging hiking route will take you to the beautiful area of Corno di Campo Verde. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 7.612 kilometers and an elevation gain of 271 meters. The estimated duration for this hike is 2 hours and 26 minutes.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area located right at the beginning of the trail. This is a convenient spot to leave your vehicle before embarking on the hike. About 2.5 kilometers into the hike, you will find a picnic site where you can take a break and enjoy some food amidst nature.
Continuing on, at around 2.54 kilometers from the start, there is an information point called "Bivio Conrad" where you can learn more about the area and its surroundings. Just a bit further, at 2.55 kilometers, you will encounter another picnic site, perfect for a mid-hike rest.
One of the highlights of this route is the "Baito Bivio Italia - Galmarara Pastorile," a wilderness hut located 2.5 kilometers from the start. This is a great place to experience a rustic accommodation option and immerse yourself in the natural surroundings.
Further along the trail, at 3.81 kilometers, you will reach the peak known as Corno di Campo Verde, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, at this point, you can explore the Eco Museo della Grande Guerra - Monte Forno ruins, which provide a glimpse into the area's historical significance.
For those interested in natural landmarks, there are also the peaks of Monte Forno at 0.06 kilometers and Grotta della Capra cave entrance at 2.14 kilometers from the start. These add an adventurous touch to the hike, allowing you to explore the diverse terrain of the area.
As you make your way back, don't miss the Fortino ruins located at 3.56 kilometers from the start, offering a glimpse into the area's past.
