This extremely difficult hiking route will take you to the breathtaking Mount Temple, located in a stunning area with Moraine Lake as one of the highlights. The 15.344-kilometer out-and-back trail involves an elevation gain of 1620 meters and is estimated to take about 7 hours and 36 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you'll pass by the RV parking area at the trailhead, with a viewpoint just 0.12 kilometers away offering beautiful scenery. Further along the trail at 0.11 kilometers, you'll reach another viewpoint at Moraine Lake, a must-see spot for a photo opportunity. Just a short distance away is a parking area for cars, making it convenient for hikers.
Midway through the hike at 5.66 kilometers, you'll come across Sentinel Pass, a saddle point with breathtaking views of the surrounding natural landscape. Along the way, there are benches and picnic sites for hikers to take a break and enjoy a snack while soaking in the views.
Towards the end of the trail at 7.67 kilometers, you'll find yourself near Mount Temple, a notable peak in the area that offers a rewarding summit experience. Make sure to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging hike and pack plenty of water and snacks to stay hydrated and energized throughout the journey.
