Located in the Vercors Regional Natural Park, this challenging hiking route to Moucherotte offers stunning views and historical points of interest along the way. Starting at the parking area, hikers will pass by the ruins of a ski jumping ramp before reaching the Abri du Moucherotte wilderness hut, a perfect spot for a rest.
Continuing on, hikers will reach the Moucherotte peak viewpoint, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. On the way, you'll also come across La Roche and Combe de l'Ours information points, providing insights into the area's history and wildlife.
As you trek further, make sure to check out the Boyau cave entrance and the various viewpoints along the trail, including a stop at Roc de Bataillon. While some points of interest may require a slight detour from the trail, they are worth the visit for a unique experience.
With almost 5 kilometers of distance and an elevation gain of 640 meters, this hike is considered difficult and is best suited for experienced hikers. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and dress appropriately for changing weather conditions. Checking the forecast before embarking on this adventure is highly recommended.
Towards the end of the hike, hikers will reach the summit of Moucherotte before retracing their steps back to the starting point. Don't forget to take in the breathtaking views one last time before concluding this rewarding trek.
