This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Poggio Castiglione. The trail is 3.653 kilometers long and has an elevation gain of 289 meters, making it of moderate difficulty. Make sure to bring plenty of water and check the forecast before heading out.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by a parking area right at the beginning of the route. As you continue on, you will come across Villa Caponi, a historic manor nestled along the trail. Further along, you will reach a wayside shrine, adding a touch of history to your hike.
Midway through the route, at approximately 1.47 kilometers from the start, you will find an information point and a viewpoint where you can take a break and enjoy the scenic surroundings. Towards the end of the trail, you will reach another wayside shrine before arriving at the peak of Poggio Castiglione, offering stunning panoramic views of the area.
After taking in the sights at the peak, you will retrace your steps back to the trailhead. Along the way, you can stop by a restaurant called Circolo i Risorti for a well-deserved meal. Remember to follow trail markers and stay on the designated path for a safe and enjoyable hiking experience.
