This hike takes you through the stunning area surrounding Pico Puerto de la Pez, offering breathtaking views and a challenging adventure. With a total distance of 14.887 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1771 meters, this route is classified as extremely difficult, so be prepared for a strenuous trek.

Starting at the parking area at the trailhead, you will begin your journey towards Pico Puerto de la Pez. Along the way, you will come across some interesting points of interest. At around 2.27 kilometers from the start, you will find the Cabane de La Pez shelter, providing a nice resting spot to refuel and take in the surroundings. Further along the trail at 1.99 kilometers from the start, you will encounter the Cabane Jean-Forgues shelter, offering another opportunity to rest and enjoy the scenery.

As you continue your ascent, you will reach the Port de la Pez saddle at approximately 5.81 kilometers from the start, a picturesque location that offers stunning panoramic views of the area. At 7.44 kilometers from the start, you will arrive at both the Pico Puerto de la Pez and Pico de la Pez peaks, where you can revel in the accomplishment of reaching these high points.

It is important to note that this route is an out-and-back trail, so you will retrace your steps on the way back to the parking area. As this hike is quite challenging, make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen.
