This extremely difficult 16.212-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Punta de l'Abella in a beautiful natural area. The trail starts at a parking area, which is conveniently located at the beginning of the hike.
As you make your way along the trail, you will encounter several points of interest. Approximately 8.11 kilometers from the start, you will reach the peak called Punta de l'Abella, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surroundings. As you continue your journey, at around 2.27 kilometers from the start, you will come across the Cabane de La Pez, a shelter where you can take a rest and enjoy the serene atmosphere.
Further along the trail, at about 1.99 kilometers from the start, you will find another shelter called Cabane Jean-Forgues, providing a perfect spot for a break. Midway through the hike, at 5.81 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Port de la Pez, a saddle offering a picturesque setting for a rest and some photo opportunities.
It is important to note that there are a couple of saddles along the trail, with one at 8.06 kilometers from the start and another at 7.74 kilometers from the start. Additionally, at 7.44 kilometers from the start, you will encounter two peaks, namely Pico Puerto de la Pez and Pico de la Pez, both present great views and a sense of accomplishment.
With a total elevation gain of 1838.0 meters, this hike is best suited for experienced hikers who are looking for a challenging adventure. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and appropriate gear. Additionally, it's always a good idea to check the weather forecast before embarking on the journey.
