This hike takes you to the stunning Rothorn peak in a picturesque area surrounded by nature. The route is 9.53 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 532 meters, making it a challenging but rewarding trek.

You will start your journey at Melchsee, a beautiful water feature located 0.8 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. From there, you will pass by the Melchsee-Frutt information point at the start of the trail where you can learn more about the area.

As you make your way along the trail, you will encounter various points of interest such as Balmeregghorn peak and Rothorn peak. These peaks offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and are great spots to take a break and enjoy a picnic at Balmeregg picnic site.

Along the way, you will find benches and information points where you can rest and gather more information about the area. Be sure to check out the Talistock peak, located 3.61 kilometers from the start of the trail, for another stunning viewpoint.

The trail is an out-and-back route, so you will retrace your steps on the way back. Make sure to bring plenty of water, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and check the forecast before you go. The hike is classified as difficult due to its length and elevation gain, so be prepared for a challenging but unforgettable adventure to the Rothorn peak.
