Hiking : Leger Hochalm

This challenging hiking route will take you to the beautiful Leger Hochalm area. The total distance of the hike is approximately 10.8 kilometers with an elevation gain of 872 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek. It is estimated to take around 4 hours and 40 minutes to complete.

Starting off the trail, you will come across the Schaukäserei Kasplatzl, a cheese factory located just 20 meters from the trail. This can be a great place to visit at the beginning or end of your hike to learn more about local cheese production.

As you continue on the trail, you will pass several water points, with the first one located at around 4.3 kilometers into the hike. These can be a great spot to rest and refill your water bottles.

Around the midway point of the hike, approximately 4.8 kilometers in, you will find another water point followed by more along the way at regular intervals.

For those looking to take a break and enjoy some refreshments, there is a restaurant called Schaukäserei Kasplatzl located just 22 meters off the trail.

At the end of the trail, you will reach Rettensteinjoch, a saddle point offering stunning views of the surrounding area.

It is important to note that there are parking spots available at the beginning and end of the trail, with fees applying only at the Hintenbach parking lot.
