Located in a scenic area, the trail to Jwala is an extremely difficult 18.227-kilometer out-and-back route with an elevation gain of 1310 meters. The hike is expected to take around 7 hours and 30 minutes to complete.
Starting at the parking area, hikers will pass by various points of interest along the way. About 0.86 kilometers from the start, there is a water source which can be a good spot to refill your water bottle. Further along the trail, at 2.22 kilometers, you will find Nag Mandir, an interesting attraction slightly off the trail.
As you continue your journey, at the 9.11-kilometer mark, you'll reach Jwala, an alpine hut where you can rest and enjoy the surroundings. Remember to bring enough water and snacks as there are limited sustenance options along the trail. About 0.86 kilometers from the start, there is a drinking water spot, and at 0.12 kilometers, a fast-food joint can be found for a quick bite.
On the way back, you can stop by Satyam Restaurant, Chawla's Cafe, or Abu Dhaba for a meal before reaching the parking area. Additionally, there are restaurants like Karma Restaurant and cafes like Tunna's Book Café along the trail for a pleasant dining experience.
Due to the length and elevation gain of the hike, it is recommended to be well-prepared with proper hiking gear, sufficient water, and snacks. Always check the weather forecast before embarking on your journey to ensure a safe and enjoyable hike.
