This hiking route will take you through the picturesque area around Große Kanzel, starting at an elevation of 723 meters and reaching a peak elevation of 1000 meters. The total distance of the hike is 2.666 kilometers with an elevation gain of 355 meters, taking approximately 1 hour and 7 minutes to complete.

The trail starts at the parking area near the Eicherthütte restaurant and alpine hut. As you begin your hike, you will pass by the Eicherthöhle cave entrance and the viewpoint known as Große Kanzel, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. Along the way, you will also encounter various caves such as Franzosenloch, Kanzelhöhle, and Ambrosiushöhlchen.

For a rest or a picnic, you will find benches and picnic sites conveniently located along the trail, including at the Großmaulhöhle cave entrance. Information boards provide insight into the history and significance of the area, with notable memorials like Dr. Leopold Hintsteiner and Fred Neugebauer.

Towards the end of the hike, you will come across the wayside cross Gretikreuz and the wayside shrine Gittikreuz, adding a touch of historical charm to your journey. The hike culminates at the Rosa Höhlchen cave entrance before looping back to the starting point.
