This hiking route takes you through the picturesque area surrounding the Canal des Houillères de la Sarre. The trail is approximately 14.236 kilometers long and is considered extremely difficult due to its length and elevation gain.
As you start your journey, you will pass by the Grand Étang de Mittersheim, located just 0.44 kilometers from the trailhead. This beautiful body of water offers a tranquil setting for a quick stop before continuing on your hike. Along the way, you will also encounter several other points of interest, such as La Cornée Sombre, Finstereck, and Ersteneck, all of which are natural water features that add to the scenic beauty of the trail.
Halfway through your hike, you will reach the Plage de Mittersheim, a lovely beach area where you can relax and take in the surroundings. Be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as the trail can be challenging and it's important to stay hydrated and energized.
