Welcome to the hiking route to Le Pinet, a challenging but rewarding trail in the beautiful surroundings of the Chartreuse mountains.
You will start your journey at the designated parking area, conveniently located at the beginning of the trail. As you venture forth, approximately 2 kilometers into your hike, you will come across the Cabane de l'Alpette, a wilderness hut providing a perfect spot to rest and take in the serene mountain views.
Further along the trail, at around 1.66 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Col de l'Alpette, a picturesque saddle offering a great vantage point of the surrounding landscape. Make sure to refill your water bottles at the nearby spring located at 1.94 kilometers from the start.
Continuing on, at approximately 4.62 kilometers from the start, you will reach the peak of Le Pinet, where you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the region. Nearby, you can also find the historic wayside cross, Le Bouchet, which adds a touch of cultural significance to your hike.
As you journey back towards the starting point, you can explore the various points of interest along the way, including the shelter at 3.17 kilometers from the start, and the Source de l'Ane spring at 1.4 kilometers from the start.
With a total distance of 9.244 kilometers and an elevation gain of 681 meters, this trail is classified as difficult, so make sure to come prepared with proper hiking gear, sufficient water, and snacks.
