Located in the beautiful Chartreuse Regional Natural Park, the hike to Le Pinet offers breathtaking views and a challenging adventure for outdoor enthusiasts.
Starting at the designated parking area, you will begin your journey towards Cabane de l'Alpette, a wilderness hut located approximately 2.05 kilometers from the starting point. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Continuing on, you will pass by the stunning Col de l'Alpette, a saddle point that offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. As you trek along the trail, you will also come across a refreshing spring and a drinking water station to refill your water bottle.
The highlight of the hike is reaching the peak of Le Pinet, which sits at an elevation of 4.62 kilometers from the start. From here, you can marvel at the stunning vistas of the park and beyond.
On your way back, you can stop by the historic wayside cross at 4.62 kilometers from the start, as well as informational points such as Le Bouchet at 0.56 kilometers and another informational point at 2.65 kilometers.
Along the trail, you will also encounter various natural wonders such as Cave entrances, the Gouffre du Névé at 3.26 kilometers, and the Source de l'Ane spring at 1.4 kilometers.
With a total distance of 9.244 kilometers and an elevation gain of 681 meters, this hike is rated as difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this adventure.
