This extremely difficult hiking route will take you to the stunning Hohes Kreuzjoch - Monte Croce peak. The trail spans a distance of 19.038 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1367 meters, making it a challenging but rewarding journey.
Starting off, you can fuel up at the Gasthof Paflur restaurant located right at the beginning of the trail. As you trek onwards, you'll come across the Bergeralp Alp restaurant at around 4.56 kilometers from the start, where you can take a break and enjoy some local cuisine.
Midway through the hike, you'll encounter the Köpflplatte - La Lasta peak at 6.75 kilometers from the start, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Further along the trail, at 7.72 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the Kalterer peak, another picturesque spot to rest and take in the natural beauty.
The Hohes Kreuzjoch - Monte Croce peak itself is located approximately 9.52 kilometers from the start of the trail. Once you reach the summit, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views and a sense of accomplishment.
Throughout the hike, make sure to stay hydrated and pack enough water and snacks as there are limited facilities along the trail. Additionally, check the weather forecast before heading out as conditions can change rapidly in mountainous areas.
