This extremely difficult hiking route takes you to Monte Campioncino, offering a challenging but rewarding experience. The trail spans a distance of 14.989 kilometers and features an elevation gain of 798.0 meters. It is estimated to take around 5 hours and 27 minutes to complete.
Starting off at the trailhead, you will come across a parking area at the beginning of the route. As you venture further, you will reach a picturesque alpine hut called Rifugio Cimon della Bagozza, located 2.92 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy some sustenance before continuing your journey.
Continuing on the trail, at around the 6.02 kilometer mark, you will reach Passo di Campelli, a beautiful saddle offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Further along, at 6.84 kilometers from the start, you will find Rifugio Campione, another alpine hut where you can rest and refuel.
As you approach the peak, you will encounter Monte Campioncino, a majestic peak standing tall at 7.49 kilometers from the start. Take in the stunning views from the summit before making your way back.
Along the trail, you will also come across various points of interest such as the Madonnina dei Campelli artwork, a wayside cross, and a drinking water station to keep you hydrated throughout the hike.
Given the length and elevation gain of the route, it is important to come prepared with plenty of water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear.
