Located in the beautiful mountains, the Pico de Astún hiking route offers a challenging adventure for experienced hikers. Covering a distance of 8.293 kilometers with an elevation gain of 579 meters, this route is rated as difficult due to its length and elevation.
Starting at the Estación de Esquí Astún parking area, the trail leads you through breathtaking scenery towards the peak of Pico de Astún. Along the way, you will encounter several points of interest. At 3.11 kilometers from the start, you will come across the historic boundary stone known as Borne 309. Further along the trail at 2.28 kilometers, you can stop at the stunning Ibón de Escalar lake for a tranquil break.
As you continue on, you will reach the Col des Moines saddle at the 3.1-kilometer mark, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Nearby, there is an information point to learn more about the area. For a quick refreshment, a cafe is located at 0.53 kilometers from the start.
For nature enthusiasts, the route also includes a spring at 2.48 kilometers and the peak of Trampolíngeles at 3.55 kilometers, both offering unique experiences along the way.
