This challenging hiking route takes you through a picturesque area with stunning views and interesting points of interest along the way. The trail is an out-and-back type, starting at a parking area and leading you to the breathtaking View to Unterer Grindelwaldgletscher (glacier) as the destination.
As you start your hike, you'll come across the Marmorbruch, a fascinating attraction located about 0.71 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. Further along, at around 0.66 kilometers into the hike, you'll encounter the Marmorhöhle, another interesting site to explore.
For sustenance, there are a few options available along the trail. Approximately 0.63 kilometers into the hike, you'll find a restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat. If you're looking for a higher-altitude dining experience, the Bäregghütte alpine hut is situated at 3.9 kilometers from the start of the trail.
History buffs will appreciate the ruins of Alte Bäregg, located around 3.43 kilometers into the hike. Additionally, you can visit the Stiereggruine ruins, although they are a bit off the trail at 3.97 kilometers.
Nature lovers will enjoy the Gletscherschlucht (glacier gorge) and the opportunity for bungee jumping at around 0.09 kilometers and 0.66 kilometers into the hike, respectively. Be sure to take in the stunning views from the various viewpoints along the trail, including the View to Unterer Grindelwaldgletscher (glacier) at 3.97 kilometers.
Throughout the hike, you'll find benches and information points where you can rest and learn more about the area. Remember to bring plenty of water, as this 7.942-kilometer trail features an elevation gain of 1069 meters and is rated as difficult.
