Welcome to the Monte Altissimo hiking route!

Located in a stunning natural area, this 8.87-kilometer circular route offers a challenging yet rewarding hiking experience. With an elevation gain of 685 meters, this trail is considered difficult and is perfect for hikers looking for a bit of a challenge.

As you make your way along the trail, you will come across several points of interest. At the beginning of the hike, you will pass by the picturesque Pozza di Pian d'Aprile, a beautiful water feature perfect for a quick stop to enjoy the scenery. Further along the trail, at around 1.47 kilometers from the start, you will reach Capanna Plai, an alpine hut where you can take a break and refuel before continuing your journey.

Midway through the hike, approximately 4.15 kilometers from the start, you will encounter the impressive Monte Altissimo peak, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. Don't forget to stop by Baita Altissimo, another alpine hut located 4.16 kilometers from the start, for a well-deserved rest and perhaps a tasty treat.

Throughout the hike, you will also come across various information points providing insight into the area's history and natural features. Be sure to stay hydrated and pack plenty of water, as well as snacks to keep your energy up along the way.
