This extremely difficult 16.686-kilometer circular hiking route will take you to the stunning Pic de Montfaucon area. The trail starts at the parking area, where you can leave your vehicle and begin your adventure. Make sure to bring plenty of water and check the weather forecast before setting out on this challenging journey.

Along the trail, you will encounter several points of interest. At the beginning of the hike, you will pass by a beautiful spring called Clot de Portillou, offering a refreshing stop for hikers. As you continue on, you will come across Lac d'Arou, a picturesque water feature located 3.52 kilometers from the start of the trail.

Midway through the hike, you will reach another lovely spring, a great spot to rest and replenish your water supply. Further along the trail, at 7.6 kilometers from the start, you will find the impressive Pic de Montfaucon peak, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area.

While the route may be challenging due to its length and elevation gain of 1305 meters, the stunning scenery and natural landmarks along the way make it a rewarding experience for avid hikers. Be sure to stay on the designated trail and be prepared for a long day of hiking.
