The Auerspitz hiking route is located in a picturesque area with stunning natural beauty. The trail is circular and covers a distance of approximately 12.6 kilometers with an elevation gain of 871 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers. The estimated duration for the hike is around 5 hours and 6 minutes.

Along the route, hikers will encounter various points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, there are parking areas such as Taubensteinbahn and Am See, where you can leave your vehicle before starting the hike. As you make your way through the trail, about 5.12 kilometers in, you will find Rotwandhaus, a restaurant and alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy some refreshments.

Continuing further along the trail, at around 6.14 kilometers, you will reach the peak of Auerspitz, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Around 4.33 kilometers into the hike, you will come across viewpoints like Kirchstein and Simon Ganterer, where you can stop to admire the scenery.

As you trek through the challenging terrain, you may also encounter informative spots such as Willi Ringel memorial and various informational points providing insights into the area's history and natural features.
