This challenging hiking route will take you through the beautiful natural landscapes of the area, offering stunning viewpoints and interesting points of interest along the way. The trail has a total distance of 5.849 kilometers and an elevation gain of 601 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike.
Starting at the Parking des Combes, you will begin your journey towards the Refuge Pierre Bouvard, located 1.41 kilometers from the starting point. This shelter provides a great resting spot for hikers to catch their breath and take in the surroundings.
Continuing on, you will come across two springs, one at 2.63 kilometers and the other at 2.68 kilometers from the start, offering a refreshing stop to refill your water bottles. As you trek further, you will pass by various information points such as Les Daudes, Le Rosset, and Les Grangettes, providing insights into the area's history and natural features.
Around the midway point, at 2.74 kilometers, you will reach the Col de la Cochette, where you can learn more about the area's geography and enjoy panoramic views. Nearby shelters, Abri des Granges du Col de la Cochette and Petite Grange de la Cochette, offer additional resting spots for hikers.
As you approach the endpoint, at 2.92 kilometers, you will reach the Point de vue sur le Lac du Bourget, a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking the stunning Lac du Bourget. This makes for a perfect turnaround point before heading back on the same trail.
