This extremely difficult hiking route will take you along the Marterl - Rudi-Maier-Weg trail, offering challenging terrain and stunning alpine views.
Starting at the parking area, you will begin your trek through the picturesque landscape. Along the way, you will pass by the Peters Bruennl alpine hut, where you can take a break and enjoy some refreshments before continuing on. As you venture further, you'll come across the Sadnighaus restaurant and alpine hut, perfect for a rest stop and a hearty meal.
Midway through the hike, you'll reach Sadnig peak, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Don't forget to stop by the Vorsadnig peak and Sadnigscharte saddle for more breathtaking vistas.
Along the trail, there are several points of interest, including water sources, information points, and historic landmarks such as the Marterl wayside shrine. Make sure to stay hydrated and bring enough water, as well as snacks to keep your energy up during the challenging ascent.
As you make your way back, you can stop by the Kapitzenbühel information point and the waterfall to admire the natural beauty of the area. Remember to check the weather forecast before embarking on this long and strenuous hike, and dress appropriately for the changing mountain conditions.
