This hiking route takes you through the beautiful Vryheid Hill Nature Reserve, located in a scenic area with stunning viewpoints and historic ruins to explore. The trail is an out-and-back type with a total distance of 3.987 kilometers and an elevation gain of 177 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Vryheid Hill Nature Reserve parking space, where you can safely leave your vehicle before embarking on the trail. Along the way, be sure to visit the ABW - South Gun Point, a viewpoint that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This point is located approximately 1.99 kilometers from the start of the trail.
Continuing on, you will encounter a cave entrance situated 1.11 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. The cave provides a unique opportunity to explore the natural wonders of the area and add an exciting element to your hike.
