This challenging hiking route on Rue du Saugey covers a distance of 7.008 kilometers with an elevation gain of 385 meters, taking approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes to complete. The trail starts at a parking area at the beginning of the route. As you make your way along the path, you will come across La Balme Noire, a cave entrance located 2.25 kilometers from the start. Further along the trail at the same distance, you will find a climbing area.
About midway through the hike, at 3.5 kilometers from the start, there is a viewpoint where you can stop to admire the surrounding scenery. Be sure to bring enough water for the trek as there are limited facilities along the way.
Additionally, along the trail, there is a bar called Bar brasserie La Bouche à Oreille, offering a pit stop for refreshments. A spring is also located 3.29 kilometers from the start, providing a natural water source for hikers.
As you approach the end of the route, at 2.28 kilometers from the start, there is another viewpoint named Point de Vue, offering a final glimpse of the breathtaking landscape.
