This hiking route takes you through the picturesque area of Sommersteig, offering stunning views and a challenging terrain. The trail is a circular route with a total distance of 9.682 kilometers and an elevation gain of 742 meters, making it a difficult hike that will test your endurance.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Bergheim restaurant and alpine hut, located just 0.24 kilometers from the trailhead. This is a great spot to grab a bite to eat or rest before tackling the rest of the hike. Continuing on, you will pass by a parking area just a stone's throw away from the starting point.
On your way, you will encounter several water sources, with the closest one being at the 4.22 kilometer mark, followed by another at 4.4 kilometers into the hike. These are great spots to refill your water bottle and take a break as you enjoy the serene surroundings.
Around the midway point of the trail, you will find Almind-Alm, a restaurant and alpine hut situated 1.61 kilometers from the trail. This is another excellent opportunity to refuel and recharge for the remainder of the hike.
Throughout the route, you will also come across informative signposts and benches, providing you with valuable information about the area and a place to rest if needed. These are scattered along the trail, ensuring you stay informed and comfortable during your trek.
