This extremely difficult 12.382-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Cima di Colle d'Acquaviva in the area. The trail includes a total elevation gain of 1439 meters, making it a challenging but rewarding adventure for experienced hikers.
As you begin your journey, you'll come across a parking area conveniently located right at the start of the trail. Roughly 2.95 kilometers into the hike, you'll find the impressive Grotte del Cavallone, a cave entrance worth exploring. Continuing onwards, at around 4.04 kilometers, there is a scenic viewpoint that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Midway through the hike, at 6.19 kilometers, you'll reach the highlight of the trail - the majestic Cima di Colle d'Acquaviva peak. Although the peak is a short distance from the trail, it is a must-see spot that provides a sense of achievement and offers spectacular views of the area.
It's important to note that this hike is extremely difficult due to its length and elevation gain. Make sure to come prepared with plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear.
