This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Lakain, Mugarrien in the Basque Country. The trail is 3.132 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 34 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
Starting at Hordago ostatua, a restaurant at the trailhead, you will make your way towards Lizarrieta, a bar located right at the beginning of the trail. As you continue along the path, you will pass by several points of interest including the peak of Lakain, Mugarrien 48. zenbakia, which is approximately 1.57 kilometers from the start.
Along the route, you will also come across the Cabane d'Usategieta, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings. There are also information points such as Xorilepo and Chemin des Palombières where you can learn more about the area.
For history enthusiasts, there are several historic boundary stones, including Mugarrien 44. zenbakia and Mugarrien 46. zenbakia, located along the trail. These stones provide a glimpse into the cultural heritage of the region.
At the midway point, you will reach Gaztainarriko Gaina, a peak that offers stunning panoramic views of the landscape. As you make your way back, consider stopping by Domikusantz, an information point about the local flora and fauna.
