This hiking route takes you through the stunning area around Cap de Bassias. The 13.625 kilometers long trail offers a challenging hike with an elevation gain of 738 meters, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers.
Along the way, you will encounter various points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, you will find a parking area for your convenience. As you venture further, you will pass by a spring, located 4.62 kilometers from the start, providing a refreshing spot to rest and replenish your water supply.
Around the 4.15-kilometer mark, you will come across the Cabane de Courrau d'Antenac, a wilderness hut where you can take a break and enjoy the serene surroundings. Moving forward, you will reach the Cabane Cap de Salieres at 4.62 kilometers from the start, offering a sheltered spot to pause and admire the views.
Continuing on, you will encounter several peaks along the way. Cap de Salière, Cap de Laragouère, Cap de la Coume de Mourdère, Cap de la Pique, and finally, Cap de Bassias. These peaks provide stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and are perfect opportunities to capture memorable moments.
As this is an out-and-back trail, you will retrace your steps on the way back, allowing you to enjoy the views from a different perspective.
