This hiking route is an out-and-back trail to Hermagorer Bodenalm, spanning a distance of approximately 25.7 kilometers with an elevation gain of 278 meters. The trail is considered extremely difficult due to its length and elevation changes.

Starting at the trailhead, hikers will pass by various points of interest along the way. About 4.49 kilometers from the start, you will come across a campsite called "Knaller" where you can take a break and enjoy the scenery. Further along the trail at approximately 12.86 kilometers, you will reach Hermagorer Bodenalm, an alpine hut where you can rest and refuel before heading back.

Throughout the hike, there are several parking areas available for those arriving by car. It is advisable to bring plenty of water, snacks, and to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging journey.
