The trail starts at a picturesque area near Vilsalpsee, where you can find parking facilities and a restaurant called Fischerstube just at the beginning of the trail. Along the way, there are several points of interest to look out for, including the Landsberger Hütte alpine hut at around 4.2 kilometers from the start, which provides a great resting spot. As you continue, you will encounter the Obere Traualpe restaurant at 2.96 kilometers from the start, ideal for refueling during your journey.

Midway through the hike, you will reach the Westliches Lachenjoch saddle, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Further ahead, at 5.53 kilometers from the start, you will find the peak of Steinkarspitze, although it is not directly on the trail.

As you make your way back, don't miss the refreshing waterfalls located at 3.79 and 3.7 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. Additionally, there are information points and benches strategically placed along the route to provide guidance and rest stops for hikers.

One of the notable landmarks along the trail is the Kalbleggspitze peak at 7.5 kilometers from the start, which offers a rewarding summit experience for those who reach it.
