Welcome to the hiking route to Picco di Mezzodì!

This challenging route covers a distance of 9.4 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1048 meters, taking approximately 4 hours and 47 minutes to complete. The trail starts from a parking area at the base of the mountain, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on this adventure.

As you begin your ascent, you will pass by "Ai Sette Nani", a restaurant located just 50 meters from the starting point. It's a great spot to grab a meal or snack before or after your hike. Further along the trail, at 3.7 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the peak of Monte Collarice, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Along the way, you'll encounter several information points providing insights into the area's history and geology. Make sure to stop by these spots to learn more about the fascinating features of Picco di Mezzodì. Additionally, there are drinking water stations conveniently located at various points along the trail to keep you hydrated.

At the halfway point, you'll come across Sella Colrotondo, a saddle point that offers a brief respite before continuing your journey towards the summit. As you approach the peak, be prepared for a challenging but rewarding final stretch to reach the top of Picco di Mezzodì.

After enjoying the breathtaking views from the summit, you can retrace your steps back to the starting point, passing by Malga Alpe del Lago, a rustic mountain hut where you can take a break and soak in the peaceful surroundings. Make sure to refill your water bottle at the drinking water station located 1.34 kilometers from the end of the trail.

Before embarking on this hike, ensure you are well-prepared with proper hiking gear, including sturdy footwear, plenty of water, and snacks. Check the weather forecast beforehand and plan your hike accordingly to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience on the trail to Picco di Mezzodì.
