This hike takes you through the beautiful Waldweg area, offering stunning views and a variety of points of interest along the way. With a total distance of 3.475 kilometers and an elevation gain of 142 meters, this easy route is perfect for hikers of all levels.
Starting at the trailhead, you will come across a convenient parking area right at the beginning of the hike. Around 0.94 kilometers into the hike, you'll find the Josef-Franz-Hütte, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy some refreshments.
As you continue on the trail, you'll encounter the Geisbühel peak at around 1.47 kilometers, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. At 1.74 kilometers, slightly off the trail, you can explore the Spitzmauer peak, a great spot to take in the natural beauty of the area.
Throughout the hike, you'll also come across various benches, viewpoints, picnic sites, and informational markers, providing opportunities to rest, take in the scenery, and learn more about the area's history and natural features.
Near the end of the hike, at around 1.74 kilometers, you have the option to visit the Waldweghöhle and Rote-Wand-Höhle cave entrances, adding a touch of adventure to your hiking experience.
