This challenging out-and-back hiking route will take you through a picturesque area with a total distance of 7.361 kilometers and an elevation gain of 349 meters. The estimated duration of the hike is 2 hours and 34 minutes, so make sure to plan accordingly.

You will start your journey at the parking area located right at the trailhead. Just a short distance away, at 0.06 kilometers from the start, you will come across the Ugaldetxo restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat before hitting the trail. About 0.14 kilometers into the hike, you will find an information point, perfect for learning more about the area.

As you continue on, approximately 1.17 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Aparrain picnic site where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings. Further along the trail, at 1.2 kilometers from the start, a shelter is available for hikers to rest or seek refuge if needed.

Midway through the hike, at 3.43 kilometers from the start, you will have the option to venture off the main trail and explore Pagoetako gaina, a peak with stunning views (recommended for experienced hikers). Continuing on the main trail, at 3.68 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Erkaitz peak, your final destination. From there, you can enjoy panoramic views before heading back.
