This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Rifugio Zar Senni. The trail is 3.855 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 499 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike. It is an out-and-back route, so you will retrace your steps on the way back.
Along the trail, you will come across various points of interest. At the beginning of the hike, you will pass by Campeggio Alagna, a campsite, and a parking area. As you continue on the trail, you will reach three cave entrances that are located about 1.51-1.52 kilometers from the start. These natural formations add a unique element to the hike.
Further along the route, at around 0.89 kilometers from the start, you will find the ruins of Ex seggiovia, providing a glimpse into the area's historic past. Close to this point, at 0.97 kilometers from the start, you can refill your water bottle at a drinking water point.
Continuing on, at approximately 1.6 kilometers from the start, you will find another drinking water point. As you approach the 1.91-kilometer mark, there is a fountain dedicated to Cristoforo Ferraris, offering a refreshing stop for hikers.
One of the highlights of the hike is the Cascata d'Otro, a waterfall and viewpoint located around 0.66 kilometers from the start. The trail also features other points of interest such as a waterfall named Caldaia del torrente Otro, a spring called Sorgente dello Specchio, and a viewpoint known as Lo Specchio.
Throughout the hike, it is recommended to bring an ample water supply, wear appropriate hiking gear, and check the weather forecast before setting out. The trail offers a mix of natural beauty, historical sites, and opportunities for relaxation, making it a well-rounded outdoor experience for hikers of all levels.
