The Route des Crêtes is a challenging 11.51-kilometer hiking trail with an elevation gain of 590 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding area, with various points of interest along the way.
Starting off at the trailhead, you will find a parking area conveniently located just 14 meters away from the start. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across a water source approximately 5.76 kilometers from the start, providing a perfect opportunity to refill your water bottles.
About 0.09 kilometers into the hike, you will reach Le Leutaz, an information point where you can learn more about the area. Continuing on, at around 0.37 kilometers in, you will find another information point as well as a historic wayside shrine just a short distance away.
For sustenance along the trail, there are several restaurants available. L'alpage de pré-rosset is located about 3.88 kilometers from the start, offering a place to rest and refuel. Closer to the beginning of the trail, you will also find Le Refuge and L'esprit Sauvage, perfect for a meal either before or after your hike.
This out-and-back trail will take approximately 4 hours and 8 minutes to complete, but the stunning views and points of interest along the way make it well worth the effort.
