This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area around Col d'Aubisque, offering stunning views and a variety of points of interest along the way. The trail has a total distance of 2.137 kilometers and an elevation gain of 139 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for most skill levels.
Starting at the trailhead, you will first come across the Col d'Aubisque parking area, conveniently located right at the beginning of the hike. As you continue on, you will pass by the Col d'Aubisque saddle, a natural feature just 0.04 kilometers from the start. This spot offers a great photo opportunity and a chance to take in the breathtaking surroundings.
Further along the trail, at around 0.36 kilometers from the start, you will find a water source ideal for refilling your bottles and taking a break. Continuing on, at about 1.07 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Soum de Grum peak, a notable natural landmark that offers panoramic views of the area.
For sustenance during your hike, there are two options available near the trail. At 0.04 kilometers from the start, you will find the Restaurant du Col d’Aubisque, offering a place to sit and enjoy a meal. Additionally, at 0.07 kilometers from the start, Bar le Cayolar provides a nice spot to grab a quick snack or refreshment.
This out-and-back route culminates at the Soum de Grum peak, offering a rewarding endpoint to your hike. Be sure to bring plenty of water, wear appropriate footwear, and check the weather forecast before setting out.
