This challenging hiking route will take you through the stunning alpine scenery of the Pforzheimersee area, leading you to several points of interest along the way. The trail is an out-and-back route with a total distance of 9.468 kilometers and an elevation gain of 490 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike.
Starting at the trailhead, you will first come across the Sesvenna-Hütte - Rifugio Sesvenna alpine hut, located 4.72 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy some traditional alpine hospitality. Further along the trail at 4.73 kilometers, you will encounter the serene Pforzheimersee - Laghetto del Rifugio Rasass, a beautiful lake where you can relax and take in the breathtaking views.
Throughout the hike, you will also pass by historical landmarks such as the Pforzheimer Hütte - Rifugio Rasass at 4.66 kilometers and several wayside shrines and benches, providing opportunities for reflection and rest. Additionally, there are plenty of sources of drinking water along the way, so be sure to stay hydrated.
For sustenance, the Schliniger Alm - Malga Slingia restaurant at 2.3 kilometers from the start is a great place to refuel before continuing your journey. As the trail is an out-and-back route, you can choose to turn back at any point or continue all the way to the Pforzheimersee - Laghetto del Rifugio Rasass at the end.
