This extremely difficult 12.945-kilometer circular hiking route will take you to the stunning Pic Superior de la Vaca in the beautiful area. The trail starts at a parking area where you can leave your vehicle for free and begins with a challenging ascent. Along the way, you'll pass by the Cabana de Tirapits, a shelter that offers a resting spot for hikers.
As you continue, you'll come across Les Marmotes, a fast food spot perfect for a quick bite to eat before tackling the next section of the trail. Further ahead, you'll reach L'Esquena de l'Ase, a scenic saddle point where you can take in breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Midway through the hike, you'll encounter el Portell, another saddle point, followed by Pic dels Gorgs, Pic de Freser, and Piolet de Bastiments, all offering panoramic vistas of the area. Make sure to stop by Coll de Freser and Pic de l'Infern for even more stunning views before reaching Pas del Bou, another saddle on the route.
Don't miss the Creu de Bastiments wayside cross, a historic site along the trail, before making your way back towards the starting point. Along the route, you'll also find a restaurant for a well-deserved meal and a spring called Naixement riu Ter where you can refresh.
Remember to bring plenty of water, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging journey. The trail is quite steep and covers a total elevation gain of 1070.0 meters, so be prepared for a strenuous workout.
