Hiking : el Castellar Gran

This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding el Castellar Gran. With a total distance of 8.7 kilometers and an elevation gain of 378 meters, this hike is considered to be difficult due to its length and terrain.

Starting off the trail at a convenient parking area, you will pass by various points of interest along the way. Close to the beginning, at around 0.03 kilometers from the start, you will find the charming town of Espolla, offering a glimpse into the local culture. As you continue, you can take a short detour (0.15 kilometers from the start) to Bar La Societat for a quick break and some refreshments.

Further along the trail, at approximately 2.3 kilometers from the start, you will come across the Font de la Viuda viewpoint, providing a stunning panoramic view of the surroundings. As you approach the peak at el Castellar Gran (4.35 kilometers from the start), take some time to admire the scenery and appreciate the accomplishment of reaching this high point.

On the way back, you can explore some historical sites such as the Menhir de Castellar-Rocs Blancs (3.6 kilometers from the start) and the Menhir del Castellà (4.35 kilometers from the start), adding a cultural element to your hike.
