This hiking route will take you through a beautiful area with stunning views and challenging terrain. The trail is an out-and-back type, leading to the destination of Peña Roja.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area at the beginning of the trail. Make sure to park your vehicle securely before embarking on the hike.
Approximately 0.28 kilometers into the hike, you will find a water source, which can be a refreshing stop to refill your water bottle. Further along the trail, at 1.97 kilometers from the start, you may spot the Cova de Moragues cave entrance from a distance.
Continuing on, at 2.57 kilometers, there is a viewpoint that offers a panoramic vista of the surroundings. Take a moment to soak in the beauty of the landscape before moving forward.
At 3.88 kilometers, you will reach the peak of Peña Roja, which is the ultimate goal of this hike. The elevation gain along the trail is 472 meters, providing a challenging ascent to the summit.
Throughout the hike, there are drinking water stations available at various points to keep you hydrated. The Font de Baix de la Carroja at 0.28 kilometers and Font de Moragues at 1.95 kilometers are among these water sources.
As you make your way back, you can stop by Penya Foradà peak at 2.57 kilometers and enjoy the scenic views from this vantage point.
